Knovo for Knomadix

Our collaboration with the Knomadix team and Precious Studio led to the creation of a remarkable collection of characters that deeply resonate with children using the Knomadix education platform. Let's see how we achieved this feat, from ideation and concepts to styles and animations.

Knomadix is a k-12 learning experience platform engaging students and supporting teachers in their pursuit of educational excellence. Their objective with this project was to enhance the learning experience by introducing a character to guide and assist students through tricky situations. The character needed to strike the perfect balance between fun and assistive, ensuring a meaningful impact on students' learning. Additionally, it was crucial to create fluid bot-like characters and animations that seamlessly integrated into the Knomadix learning platform.

Approach

We began with thorough research, drawing inspiration from the Clippy from Microsoft. While we didn't aim to recreate the same experience, we found great inspiration in it. We then crafted several concept versions and collaborated with Precious Studio to gather valuable feedback from children and teachers. Their firsthand input helped us refine and shape the characters.

Concepts and Development

Creative Execution

To maintain consistency with the Knomadix brand, we incorporated variations of their brand colors throughout the character designs. By using smooth, rounded shapes, we created characters that show a friendly and approachable vibe. Since our primary audience was children, we used animations to make the characters more fun and engaging. We crafted quick 2D versions to test animation integration into the platform while simultaneously working on the creation of 3D characters. The 3D approach enabled us to achieve attention-grabbing animations without being too cartoony. As a result, we delivered Lottie files to the team at Precious Studio, allowing for easy integration and manipulation by their developers.

Impact

Integrating these characters into the Knomadix platform and branding was a success. The children fell in love with the characters, embracing them wholeheartedly. The Knomadix team was ecstatic with the outcome, impressed by the characters' new makeover and the attention they brought to the platform. The collaboration between Wiggl, Knomadix, and Precious Studio proved a winning formula, resulting in a delightful and effective educational experience for students.
